Lincoln Saunders – The Colonel - This grumpy old man just loves his cricket and just loves sixes tournaments. With his deep pockets the Colonel is a chance to tour anywhere, at anytime, for any event, with anyone and for any period of time. Provided there is skirt, beer, vodka and a nice lush hotel room that he can crash at by 10pm each night then the Colonel is in. Celebrity around the Asian Cricket Sixes circuit, or at least he thinks he is which is enough consolation for The Colonel. Still gets some pace and bite off the pitch which still makes him dangerous.
Ian Johnston– Big Sydney lad making his second appearance at the Beijing sixes who had a good tournament last year. More is expected off the field as he makes his first solo trip. There is a chance he could be tucked up in bed at the Colonel's in the spare room by 10pm each night. Needs to lift as his form off the ground certainly doesn't live up to the lofty standards that other Sydneysiders set in Beijing or think they set. Needs to lift !
Craig Simmons – Making his first appearance for AB Mauri at the sixes – bit of an unknown quality on the drink be will be fully tested by the AB Mauri 2 squad. Let's hope he can stay out longer than Johno, or at least that's what AB Mauri 2 will be hoping to do with him.
John Martin – Lone Kiwi in AB Mauri squad this year which is a shame as his name sakes were fantastic for AB Mauri last year. Don’t expect anything fancy from this veteran but a very solid performer who can stay all day. Not a s good as his sons.
Mike Ellis - This old bloke is becoming a regularly fixture at Sixes Tournament with The Colonel when they are not divorcing each other again. Loves his tours and generally goes very hard early and runs out of steam toward the end of the tournament. Any excuse to get out of the house for this man, so it doesn't really matter about the cricket and his performance on the ground will illustrate that point.
David Yates – The Scottish import making his third AB Mauri Sixes team – astonished all playing for the AB Mauri 2 team last year hitting 3 consecutive boundaries and therefore elevated to the first team – Could pay to watch especially when it comes time for his shout! Considers himself an expert on all sports, life and business, just ask him. Adds to the growing contingent of Scots playing cricket in Beijing and could be a late starter for the Scottish National Team if talking the talk has anything to do with it.
Mick Willis – Pro golfer and that where it ends – yet to show true potential on the cricket field but this could be his year. Getting him out of the drinking tent will be the challenge for the weekend. Will have to carry his own gear for a change which could prove a challenge for this long hitter. Seems to be getting serious about his cricket with the purchase of a new bat, what a waste of money this will prove to be by Sunday evening.
